Lung Ha's do Aberdeen
After a fantastic run of shows at the Brunton Theatre the night before, a bleary eyed Lung Ha's Theatre Company travelled to Aberdeen for the first leg of the tour on a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon.
After an onslaught of East coast rain, a stop at MacDonalds for a reserved cup of tea and a short visit to Stonehaven, the team made it to the accommodation in Aberdeen. Everyone eagerly grabbed their keys and raced off to eat complimentary biscuits and investigate each other's rooms. After unpacking and a bit of rest, everyone staggered into the night to find some dinner.
The accommodation was situated in what could only be described as the Aberdeen nightlife hot spot. We had three night clubs to chose from and even a Gentleman's club. Finding it too early to stomach some shadow and cage dancing we made our way to the local Indian restaurant, with a partially covered sign above the door; Karma.
We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner known as 'Doc' who took our orders and showered some of us with poppadoms; as we were split over two tables. Then we waited an hour for our food, realising that 'sleepy' must have been working in the kitchen, we grew restless. But eventually the food appeared and we were more than happy. The bill soon arrived and everyone turned to Mark, aka Il Dottore, well he does boast about having 212 Duccats.
The next day we all headed to the Lemon Tree, the cast were really excited about performing the show again and even more excited when Clark arrived to rehearse some scenes. Both shows went well with a surprise visit from Leigh's mum and even some Company Members from Edinburgh!
Thanks to everyone who made it along!
See you in Cumbernauld!
