Lung Ha's do Cumbernauld Theatre

On Wednesday afternoon, Lung Ha's Theatre Company headed to Cumbernauld Theatre for the tour.  Il Panico Di pantalone is the first Lung Ha's production to visit Cumbernauld and we were all very excited to meet our audience there.

It was a quiet trip in the van with the main focus being on road signs and junction numbers, with Stephan following closely behind.  On arriving at the theatre, the heavens opened up just in time for us to sprint indoors.  Poor Stephan had to make his way down a wet and slippery ramp at the side of the building for the stage level entrance.  I was on hand with a brolly as we negotiated the steep slope.

In the theatre, Catherine and Liam were rushing around making their adjustments and fixing scrollers.  There was time for a bit of dinner and then onto rehearsing some scenes.  I decided to join in on the opera much to Stephan's amusement.

Pre show in the foyer, we were pleased to see that some of our volunteers, Kat, Roxanne and Rachel had made it along as well as Jamie's family.  Knowing family and friends are in the audience always gives the cast a bit of nerves but also makes them excited about the performance.  The show went really well, the audience were laughing and even signing along to the Sky Boat Song, whilst Stephan and I sang the "Mull Boat Song"backstage, in preperation for next week.  During the audience's applause at the end of the show, Jamie's family got up and handed all the cast a bunch of flowers, even Robert and John, the musicians, were given single roses. It was a really lovely thing to see and the cast were really surprised and delighted by it.

After the show, the cast headed to the bar to see family and friends whilst Cathering and Liam began the get out.  After saying goodye to everyone, Nick, Leigh and I headed to van for the drive home.  Clark and Mark had already left as well as Stephan.  On the road in the wrong direction and three junctions later, Nick, Leigh and I turned around at Stirling and headed back to Edinburgh.  At the roundabout we thought we saw Stephan's car.  Stephan has his name on the side of the car, so we overtook to see if it was him and it was! We couldn't believe it, he must have headed the wrong way as well. After a wee giggle, we overtook another car only to discover that it was Clark and Mark!  Stephan must have been following Clark.  We were a lost Theatre Company Convoy.   Leigh was rolling around laughing and instructed Nick to 'lose em'.

Lets hope we can make it to Mull next week!
